Who are the Lillies?

The name Four Lillies is an homage to the original Lillie in Angela’s family, her grandmother, Lillian.

Lillian’s home was a place where people from all walks of life came and felt welcomed and their stomachs and souls were filled. There was always soul food, a beverage of choice, and blues music playing on the eight-track or record player. Angela would watch her grandmother and visitors sit for hours and talk, laugh, and sometimes cry. Lillian’s home, with its wall-to-wall red carpet, made everyone who entered feel important. It was also a refuge and a place people visited when they needed advice, security, and uplifting.

Today, Angela and her two school-age daughters all carry the name Lillian in honor of the original. We hope that Four Lillies Design can help you create a home where every person who enters feels refreshed, meaningful, and considered.

About Angela

Angela grew up as the only daughter of two very young and hard-working parents. She is a life-long organizer, hard worker, and “maker” learning to craft and sew at a young age and eventually getting her first job at the age of fifteen in a craft store where most of her earnings went toward supplies to create decor for her bedroom and to make gifts for family members. She was the first person in her family to graduate from a four-year university and attend graduate school, earning an International MBA, where she discovered that her life-long obsession with reading about cultures and exploring new locales was actually an extreme case of wanderlust. The result was time spent traveling the world and learning about all the beautiful people in it. In addition to pursuing Interior Design course work at Parsons New School of Design, she has used her love of art and travel to hone her decorating and design skills, as well as to inspire multiple personal home renovations. One of her proudest moments was redesigning the first home she purchased on her own after graduating from business school.

The launch of Four Lillies Design is a career re-birth of sorts. After many years in the corporate world as a leader in Human Resources, where she was known for her ability to lead complex projects,  listen, connect, and make a difference in the careers of employees and leaders, she is now using those skills to create sacred spaces for her clients and their families at home.  Angela’s signature style is simultaneously eclectic, contemporary, and inviting. Her goal for every project is to lead with sincerity and a genuine desire to help busy individuals and families feel like their home is a refuge.

When she is not creating sacred spaces, Angela’s civic duties include serving on the Board of Directors for Dress for Success Boston and Black Vanguard Alliance. Angela enjoys travel, culinary delights, listening to audiobooks, and powerlifting.
